What Can I Do?
Be Proactive
The only way to prevent the spread of Dutch Elm Disease (DED) is to create an early preventative treatment plan. Once your Elm trees are infected they will most likely require removal.
Treatment is Key
First off, know the symptoms. If you notice leaves wilting in the spring and summer that may appear yellow or brown. Or brownish or purplish discoloration of the bark. Its probably too late. If your Elm looks healthy, hire a licensed tree professional to provide you with a treatment schedule that works for you and your landscape.
